Rafting in Rishikesh has a number of different rapid grades

Grade I: Easy

The river’s waves are uniform and small at these levels of rapids, making them ideal for first-time rafters and families with small children. Rishikesh’s rafting sections feature stretches of grade I water that provide a welcome respite from the more challenging rapids.

Grade II: Moderate

Grade 2 rapids are much more difficult to navigate than grade 1 rapids because they have longer, more difficult sections, narrower passages with larger drops, and more turbulent water. An experienced guide and proper safety gear are essential.

Grade III: Intermediate

Rapids with large, irregular waves and narrow passages tremble the boat and give the impression of adventure. When the water is thrown at you, expect to be splashed and splashed. You’ll need a profesnal river guide to navigate these rapids.

Grade IV: Difficult

Complex channels and numerous significant obstacles must be avoided in order to safely navigate these rapids. A high level of physical fitness and attention to detail are both required for this manoeuvre. There is a 15-year-old minimum age to go rafting.

Grade V: Very Difficult

Extremely difficult rapids with a grade of V are called grade V rapids. These are a series of long, nonstop rapids that frequently merge into one another.
